Black and White Teen Bedroom

This edgy black and white bedroom is perfect for a moody teenager. Whether you have a girl who has grown out of pink or a boy who is past the sports poster stage, this design has what it takes to please the pickiest kid.
The design is simple; create an accent wall with black and white paint or wallpaper, then use black or white furniture, bedding, and accents.
Black Accented Bedroom

The mention of black paint is enough to send some homeowners into a tailspin. Who on earth would want a black wall? Well, take a look at this cozy bedroom. The black accent wall is about as inconspicuous as you can get. The key is to accessorize.
The patterned, neutral headboard and black and white bedding and table lamps provide a wonderful contrast to the black wall. Also, notice the picture arrangement; the framed art is whimsical and colorful, standing out nicely against the darkness of the wall.
This room design shows that you don’t have to be afraid of the dark!
Romantic Black Bedroom

When you think of a black bedroom, you’re more likely to think “gothic” than “romantic”. However, this bedroom is about as romantic as you can get.
The curved lines of the furniture, texture of the rug and curtains, and flowers on the wallpaper all work together to balance out the edginess of the black. The gold accents on the nightstand and the lamp add an ornate touch.
This bedroom isn’t for everyone, but if you are looking for something unique, this is the design for you!
Black and Hot Pink Bedroom

Pairing black with a feminine color like pink is a great way to add some edge and sexiness to that color and turn a girlish bedroom into an adult one. The bed and decor are black, while the bedding is a deep hot pink. The artwork over the bed adds the perfect finishing touch.
Black and White Bedroom

Here is a good example of a black and white bedroom in a small space. This design would be perfect for a smaller bedroom in an apartment or dorm where you cannot paint the walls. Black and white bedding, black table lamps, and black and white wall art create a simple yet elegant space.
Transitional Black Bedroom

When we think of black, we typically think of edgy and modern. Here is an example of a transitional black bedroom. Transitional design combines old-world European style design with the clean lines and softer palette of contemporary design.
The lines in the furniture are curved, which hearkens back to older European styles of furniture. The black chairs have curved backs and legs and add elegance to the room.
The high, sweeping curtains, the height of the bed, and the height of the black headboard add a bit of dramatic flair, but they also have clean, simple lines. The solid soft gray rug completes the look.
Black and White Dalmatian Teen Bedroom

This is an adorable teen bedroom. The designer used black sparingly, but its usage was quite effective. The pillows and blanket, as well as the top of the vanity ottoman each have a dalmation pattern. The rest of the decor also has black accents. The remainder of the room is white. I think this was an excellent choice.
When using patterns such as polka dots, stripes, or in this case, dalmatian, there is a risk of business or overload. Confining the pattern to the bedding and some of the decor is a great way to minimize this risk.
The dusty blue walls add color to the room and contrast nicely with the black and white.

This room, by Ken Fulk Design, is perfect for teens. Teenagers like edgy and daring, and black is often the color of choice. The designer created a black and white bedroom that won’t scare mom and dad. Most of the bedding is white, with black accents in the pillows, sheets, the bedside table and lamp. The designer added a feminine touch with a pink accent pillow.
Black and White Bedroom with Gray Accent Wall

The design of this black bedroom is very elegant, yet simple. The bedroom furniture is sophisticated, with a baroque pattern in the front panels. This pattern is also seen in the bedding. The window treatments are simple; the designer chose sheer white panels and opaque black panels. Black and white wall art adorns the walls and black table lamps rest on the night tables.
I like the gray accent wall. I think it keeps the room from being monochromatic. The gray floor is slightly lighter than the wall, and it too provides a departure from the black and white in the rest of the room.

Designer Tom Stringer created a gorgeous black and white bedroom using patterned bedding and beds with black frames. This would be pretty simple to recreate. If this look isn’t colorful enough for you, you could always throw in a splash of color using a brightly colored accent pillow.
